TECHNICAL MANAGER, MOBILE EQUIPMENT AND FIXED PLANT MAINTENANCE (MINING)

ZVENYIKA MAISIRI

Zvenyika is a highly motivated individual with over 16 years of experience in the mining & mineral processing industry, he brings in diverse experience on Fixed plant and Mobile equipment maintenance having worked in different countries for big mining companies like Anglo American, Epiroc just to name a few. Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in maintenance, asset management and reliability engineering that he brings to Harlequin as he leads a team of maintenance and project professionals to carry out a wide range of duties.

He is a Professional Mechanical Engineer after having graduated from University of Zimbabwe with a BSc honors in Mechanical Engineering degree. In addition to this, he is also a member of the Institute of Engineers Australia after having passed the competence demonstration reports requirements. Recently he was registered as a Professional Engineer on the Australian National Engineering register (NER).

Zvenyika started his career in January 2008 as a trainee mechanical engineer at Zimasco Pvt Ltd (mining & mineral processing company) in Zimbabwe. He got promoted to assistant mechanical Engineer in August 2009 and then section maintenance engineer in January 2012 while still at Zimasco Pvt Ltd. He then left Zimasco Pvt Ltd in April 2015 to join Epiroc as Contracts Manager for a MARC (maintenance and repair contract) for an underground platinum mine. He led a team of maintenance and HSE professionals in reviving a loss-making contract and turned it into a profitable one through implementation of best maintenance practice. After working for Epiroc he then joined Anglo American as Section Engineer in Zimbabwe before going to Sudan to work as Maintenance Manager of a gold mine where he oversaw mobile equipment and fixed plant maintenance. 

He spent 3years in Sudan before being forced to leave by the deteriorating security situation in the country and joined SPMP (Strategic and Precious Metals Processing PLC) in Oman as Engineering and Maintenance Manager where he worked for 2years.At SPMP he managed to work successfully with a world renown EPCM (Worley Parsons) in a rectifying, upgrading and commissioning an Antimony and Gold Smelter that had faced challenges to meet design production targets.
